A Thing of Beauty

This can be a million things to a million people. A beautiful piece of jewelry, a beautiful car, a beachfront house, a dog... Basically anything. But it can also be a place. Any place on this amazing planet of ours.

In the summer of 2017, while traveling by boat, we arrived at the D-Maris Bay resort in Turkey. The resort is situated on a private peninsula and is truly a slice of paradise. White (imported) sandy beaches, dreamy infinity pool, with amazing views of both the bay and the mountains. I never get tired of looking at this. Since I didn’t want to be a lazy Daisy, I checked out the gym online before arrival. They were teaching Bodyism…? I seriously had never heard of this and I consider myself “au courant” of every fitness trend around. Enter my assistant Mr. Google.

The founder James Duigan and his gorgeous wife Christine build their brand on a “Lean & Clean” philosophy with a simplicity that just blew me away. Of course, I had to book a session and experience this for myself. The gym has glass walls so you are literally surrounded by the beauty of nature outside… Enter Jenny. There is only one word to describe this girl - SUNSHINE.

This girl is the embodiment of “Namaste”, her inner light shines so brightly. She’s glowing and lights up the room. I liked (loved) her the moment I met her. During the hour-long class, she both kicked my b@t (in a loving way) and gave me back my sense of self-love which according to Jenny shouldn’t depend on having or not having the perfect body or weight. to who’s standards anyway, but we should just... BE.

Love your body and it will love you back… made perfect sense as does…do everything from a place of love. I just wanted to put Jenny in my pocket and take her home with me. She has a resume from here to the moon and back, but what I remember is beauty on the inside as well as the outside. I aspire to be more like Jenny… (seriously I’m working on it, I swear) After the class, I got a bag that read
