How to make the most of everything? How to upgrade your day-to-day life?
No idea...?
Well, it's pretty simple. You just need to think and approach things differently.
Make the simple feel luxurious with a few small tweaks.
Where to Start?
Let's say at waking up. Are you the kind of woman that has a quick cup of instant coffee over the sink? You just had your last one, because ladies this is no way to live a luxurious life. It can be as simple as waking up 30 minutes earlier and preparing your coffee in a French press or making an espresso. This easy tweak upgrades your morning coffee and starts you off on a different note. Starting your day with the luxurious feeling of time sets the tone for the rest of the day.
Having a mid-morning coffee break and a proper lunch are super simple things that everyone can imply in their day without breaking the bank.
Same principle for dinner.
Change your outfit as soon as you get home to make a clear difference between your workplace and your home. Slip in something comfortable, and no. Baggy shapeless sweatpants and t-shirts are not an option. You always want to look put together.
Whether you are cooking or having take—out, make an effort to bring it about visually attractive. We do eat with our eyes, and a pretty place setting adds to the feeling of luxury.
It is very easy to make simple tweaks and swaps to your everyday life to make you feel accomplished.
Keeping your home tidy and clean makes it a pleasure to walk through the door at the end of the day.
Having a plaid or soft throw and assorted pillows on your sofa invites you to read a book with a cup of tea or a glass of wine.
Aromatic candles add to a cozy luxurious atmosphere that's unique for your home.
Nothing says luxury as well, as freshly washed and ironed bedsheets; it's like sleeping in a five-star hotel every night.
Applying all of these little tweaks will become second nature in no time, and you'll benefit every day from them.
But Let Us Not Stop Here
Instead of standing in a long line at the supermarket checkout, find specialty shops in your neighborhood for personalized service and relationships with the shop owners and vendors.
Go to the farmers market (for fresh local produce), the butcher, fishmonger, cheese shop, and so on. It is fun to get to know the people you buy from. Also, small businesses appreciate their clientele and go the extra mile with service, which makes it worth the extra time spent on food shopping.
Whether you are running errands or are just window shopping, a little coffee break is always welcome. Make it a habit to sit down and enjoy the moment. A croissant with your coffee can turn your Saturday morning shopping into the little ritual you look forward to.
There are millions of things we can do to upgrade our lives. Luxury is a state of mind, not of money. A luxurious feel to ordinary things makes everything feel extraordinary, and at the end of the day, isn't that something we all deserve?
So Queens, I really would love to know your little tweaks and upgrades to give your life
that luxurious feeling.
Xoxo,
Kati
