No, no not those kinds of grey. I'm talking about the crown on our heads.
Lately, Instagram and Pinterest are full of images of powerful women showing of their amazing shades of grey. As usual, celebs are leading the way. Let's say, Andie MacDowell, who's lucius grey locks not only make her look fabulous but seriously upped
the glamour factor.
When “Just like That", the sequel to Sex and the City premiered, I was kinda shocked by the comments made on our favorite queens about their appearances, more precisely their grey hairs.
These comments mainly came
from women the same age as our favorite queens. Women who watched the first series, women who loved all their adventures, fashion and passion. We all felt like we could be friends with them.
Personally, I think they look fantastic and kudos for them for not giving into Hollywoods
pressure to look a certain way; meaning uber botoxed, nip and tucked, and preferably under 40.
Seriously now, in what Universe do women not age? It's totally up to us to write our own future. We're the ones in control, grey hair and all.
One of the women I really admire is Claire Cook. Cook is one of my favorite authors. "Never Too Old" and "Shine on"are 2 of her books I can strongly recommend to all queens 40 until forever. Claire describes her "going grey" journey and it's brave, empowering and liberating.
Closer at home, there is this beautiful woman in my Pilates class who totally looks like Susan Sarandon but with grey hair. She rocks it like a queen.
I'm still highlighting my hair and not ready for the big leap, yet. So to all you queens out there: grey, blond, red or brunette, go and be fabulous!
