F@ck it List

When you were in your 20's did it ever enter your mind that the shirt, dress, or skirt you were trying on weren't 'age appropriate'? No, of course not. Everything in your favorite shops was designed for you, for your age.
What about in your 30's? Some "Style gurus" may apply that showing some midriff is kinda over for you... same for micro minnies.
But by the time we reach our 40's, a lot of women start making up rules for themselves. No long hair, no short skirts, no shorts at all, and so on.
And then, my dear, we hit 50. Yes, the dreaded age, the age that "they" say we're "Midlifers" now, whether we like it or not (not). Our youthful days over "they" say, and the "change", if we're not already in it, will make that clear soon enough. A little spread around the waist and some fleshy upper arms (my personal nightmare).
So now what?... Do we have to start dressing like Italian widows? NOW ladies, is a perfect time to start your own personal F@ck it list! You should keep the Bucket one also btw, but stay with me on this one. First, let's look at all the fabulous 50+ women we see on TV or in magazines. I admit that most of their pictures have been photoshopped, but I'm talking about their style, the way they dress, their hairstyle, etc.
Nowadays, 50 shouldn't freak you out. As a matter of fact, there has never been a better time to be 50+. Look at some of the ageless actresses, like Jane Fonda (a personal favorite of mine), Susan Sarandon, Michelle Pfeifer, Sharon Stone, and so many others. Models like Carmen Dell'Orfice (in her 80's), Christy Brinkley, Paulina Porizkova, and so on. These women are totally changing the way we look at "mature" women. These women are our inspiration, not the 20 something girls the beauty industry uses to sell us anti-aging creams and serums, because that's just plain ridiculous.
We are the ones to stand up and reinvent ourselves. Ask yourself; how do I want to spend the next 30, 40, and even 50 years of my life? As a bright light and inspiration to younger generations of women, or as a burned-out fire?
F@ck all the rules and go for it. Get that fabulous hairstyle, that classy (or sassy) outfit, and reinvent yourself.
As Tom Jones sings in the sexy song KISS "WOMEN, not girls, rule my world..."
So rock on Queens, it's up to you, you are in charge of the rest of your life.
